Published in Brides Florida Magazine /// Miami Vizcaya Wedding Photographer

The other night Stephen and I were grocery shopping and I saw the new issue of Brides Florida magazine came out. Right before we got married they contacted me about an article they were writing about the gorgeous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens down in Miami that we have shot a few weddings at. They used a photo from Barrett & Jud's wedding and a quote by me describing what I thought of the place from the perspective of a photographer.

Here's the showcase!

PRESS: Florida Times Union's Royal Weddings

A few days before our own wedding, I got an email from an editor at the Florida Times Union. With Prince Williams and Kate's royal wedding approaching, they wanted to showcase some local Jacksonville area luxury weddings, and I was excited to contribute Jillian & Matt's Nocatee wedding, as well as Suzanne & Matt's Amelia Island wedding at the Ritz Carlton.

Here's the showcase of Stephen's & my work from the weddings! It was even more thrilling to see one of our photos ended up on the front page!

Lauren & Marc are published! /// Weddings Unveiled Magazine /// Miami Vizcaya Wedding Photographer

When I was shooting Lauren & Marc's Miami Vizcaya wedding, I knew it was one that had to get published! The bride, Lauren, didn't hire an event designer, she enjoyed designing it all herself, so much to the point that she recently quit her job as a lawyer to now become a wedding event designer with her new company White Glove OC.

One of my favorite magazines, Weddings Unveiled, published Lauren & Marc's wedding, now on newsstands! One of my favorite things about Weddings Unveiled is how high fashion the photos are. Much different than your normal bridal photos. I get so inspired by their fashion spreads and posing and style and everything. With Lauren's Oscar de la Renta gown and Christian Louboutin shoes, she was a perfect fit in this magazine!

Here's the 4 page spread of their real wedding as seen in the online version of the print magazine!

Once upon a time... /// Wedding Photographer Featured on TLC

When I was a little girl, I used to watch a show on TLC called "A Wedding Story." I should have known back then that I was meant to be a wedding photographer because of how much I was addicted to watching each couple's love story unfold on the show. At the time, my preteen self grew up wanting to be on the show for when that day came that I got married too. I would imagine my fiance and I sitting on their set, telling the love story of how we magically met and lived happily ever after. Hey, if Cinderella got a happily ever after, I wanted my own fairy tale too.

Fast forward..... This Thursday at 5:30pm EST, my fiance Stephen Knuth and I are going to be on TLC... but not because we are on "A Wedding Story," since, well, I think that show got canceled many years ago. But instead of being the couple sharing our wedding story, we are on there as wedding photographers!

Now, of course, it might just mean a quick don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it cameo, but we heard through the grapevine that we are on there for quite a bit as we shot Veronica for her special day.

I hope you'll tune in at 5:30 EST (2:30 PST) and watch "Wedding Day Makeover" and let me know if you see us! Unfortunately we will be on a plane heading to Nashville to shoot a wedding this weekend, so I have to DVR it and wait until I get home to catch it. And of course, since I can't see it and will be anxiously waiting, if you want to record our cameo with your iphone and email it to me, well, I will just have to buy you a cupcake. With pink icing. And maybe some sprinkles. :-)

Here's a little behind the scenes action with the director and camera crew.

Featured on Style Unveiled Blog

This past July, while the weather was horribly hot here in Florida, I spent the whole month in San Diego with my photographer fiance Stephen Knuth shooting some weddings with him in the land of perfect weather. :-)

Not only are we super excited that one of our weddings will be featured on TLC's "Wedding Day Makeover" Nov 4 at 5:30pm EST (more on that to come!), but another one of our weddings was recently featured on the popular Style Unveiled blog. Chelsea was a do-it-yourself bride that pulled together so many fun vintage pastel details with a love bird theme for her Rancho Bernardo Winery wedding. Enjoy reliving the details all over again!

Sea Island Wedding Published on Atlanta Occasions Blog

I admit, I still get giddy when I see my work published. It's a feeling that never gets old. Yesterday, the gorgeous wedding of Tiffany & Charles at The Cloister Hotel in Sea Island, GA got published on the Atlanta Occasions blog. When I was photographing Tiffany, I told her to get ready because not only was she stunning, but with her amazing location and details, I just knew a magazine would pick up her wedding. You can view her wedding and interview directly here:

New promo video!

With spring in the air, I'm itching for new changes to my branding. I'm working behind the scenes on a new website and will be launching that, uh, when I have a moment to finish it, in between the spring weddings I'm busy shooting and editing.

One changed I've made though is... look above. Last year when I spoke at Pictage's PartnerCon, I showed this promo video... then kind of forgot about it. I get so distracted sometimes. So as I work on my new website, I decided to dust off the video, and finally bring it out to it showcase on my blog to show brides a little behind the scenes about me! Some of the footage is really old, like from ancient 2008, ha, but it was fun to watch it and remember some of the places my camera has taken me!

Ok, back to editing. Here's a sneak peek teaser shot of the gorgeous sunset at the wedding I shot this past weekend at The Cloister Hotel in Sea Island, Ga.! More soon!

Featured Magazine Publishings /// Southern Weddings, The Knot Florida, Rangefinder, Jacksonville Magazine

Someone pinch me.

Just earlier this year I was praying about getting published in more magazines this year. And today I took photos of not just one, but FOUR magazines I have recently been published in. What the heck? But I can't help but chuckle. That's just like God. When we ask for something, He always out gives better than we could have imagined. I give all credit to Him for the amazing hook ups!

First, this time last year I shot a GORGEOUS wedding for Shayla & Kyle in Savannah, Ga at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. Shortly after, an amazing new magazine called Southern Weddings launched it's first issue, and I knew this Savannah wedding would be the perfect match. I was excited when I got an email from their editors asking to feature it! Here's the 4-page spread design they sent me! (How appropriate that my name is listed under Shayla's darling Kate Spade hot pink shoes!)

I still love all the fabulous event design Steve Kemble did for this wedding!

Second, I got in the mail today the new The Knot Florida for Spring/Summer 2010. I knew Sarah & Zac's beautiful jewel toned wedding was going to be featured, so I flipped over to it and loved it!

Then I noticed on the cover that it was the Best of 2010 issue, so I was like "Hmm, let me flip over there and see who got chosen." To my surprise, I saw the readers chose ME as one of the top 10 wedding photographers in North Florida. Do what? For real? SWEEEEEEET! Thank you soooo much to those who voted!

I just have to say that it is an honor to be featured under the late Naomi Williams. When I was a videographer, we had a booth next to each at a bridal show, and she was a photographer who really inspired me to want to try out photography after seeing how beautifully she captured weddings. She graciously gave me a tour of her studio years ago and after that, I was hooked and bought my first camera. She will definitely be missed in this community.

Third, the other day I was flipping through the September issue of Rangefinder magazine recently, trying to catch up on my pile that had been collecting on my coffee table. Next thing I know, I see MY FACE. What the heck? And not only was it my face, it was next to Denis Reggie's face (the father of wedding photojournalism and wedding photog to the stars!), and mentioned with a lot of other photographers I have looked up to since I started this crazy journey 3 years ago. It was for an ad for Pictage's PartnerCon that we were both speakers at. Granted, at this point, PartnerCon was over, but I had no idea my picture was featured in their ad. So it was thrilling to see I made it in the professional photographer mag, Rangefinder!

Fourth, the other day I was grocery shopping and my make up artist friend, Paulina Perez, had told me that Jacksonville Magazine just came out with their Best of 2009 issue. I knew I had been chosen by the readers in the bridal issue a few months ago, (again, SUPER THANKS TO THOSE WHO VOTED!) but they apparently re-listed the bridal selections in this new issue. So cool! I wanted to tell the check out guy "Guess what, I'm in this issue!" but I, uh, held back.

I do have to say though, it's funny to me to be featured under the cutesy store, Pineapple Post, because it is owned by my old boss's sister-in-law. Small world!

FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS:

Those out there hoping to get published, I just want to use this as an example of why blogs are so important! It's because of how I blog my weddings, AND THE DETAILS from each wedding, that editors follow my work and ask to feature it, or that I'm able to easily send them links to my new weddings for them to consider. To be honest, I never used to blog detail shots before, but then I realized, that's what magazine editors want to showcase more than the lovey dovey shots of the bride and groom. Their goal is to show future brides details of what they can implement in their wedding day. So the more you can show on your blog, the better and more easy it is for the editors to consider your wedding. And I use the fabulous MCP Actions to help me easily do the detail collages. Check 'em out!

Pictage's PartnerCon- My recap!

Whew.... I did. I conquered one of my biggest fears.

Public speaking.

(shudder, chill just went down the spine.)

Earlier this month I had the privilege of being asked to speak at Pictage's PartnerCon conference to a gathering of inspiring photographers from all around the country.

Right before my talk began, I looked in the back and saw they were bringing in extra chairs to hold the attendees. Like, what? For me? Seriously? Get out of here! I couldn't believe it. I think my greatest fear was that I would only have like 10 people show up to my talk, but from what I heard, almost 250 people were in the room. That just blows my mind.

It was such an honor to stand up on the stage that just three years ago I was sitting in the audience as a newbie to photography attending my very first PartnerCon in Chicago. I remember making that scary switch from videography to photography hoping I would be good enough to compete with all the other amazing photographers whose blogs I stalked. I sat in the audience listening to photography rockstars like Mike Colon, Denis Reggie, Carlos Baez, Sara France and more, like a sponge just soaking up any information I could gain on how to start a wedding photography business (Funny, to look at that list back then and how they have all become friends now, ha!). Somehow along the way these past three years, I found my own style and now I get asked a lot how I get my couples to do what they do and open up in front of my camera. So for my talk I spoke about "How To Find The Fabulous In Each Bride & Groom."

For those of you reading this that were there, thank you sooooooo much for attending my first talk. For those of you who couldn't make it, I'll be speaking again about this on the Photog Retreat Cruise to the Bahamas in January. (From what I hear, there are still 4 spots available if you are still thinking of going!!! Woo hoo!)

It was so great seeing old friends and meeting some AMAZING new friends like fellow speakers Zach & Jody Gray and David Molnar. (By the way Jacksonville peeps, the Gray's are coming to Jacksonville for a workshop! They are the most amazing people ever, I highly recommend it! Check out info by clicking here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156768406553&ref=ts

My fabulous boyfriend Stephen Knuth took a few shots of me speaking. What an honor it was to get to share my heart with all of you. I pray that what I shared can help prosper your own business in return!

Here's a pic one of the PartnerCon paparazzi grabbed of me and my sign from a tag on my Facebook.

Here's a pic from my friend Joe's blog. He's been an email buddy and it was fun to meet him in person.

Joe also took some GREAT pics of Stephen and I one of the days we were in New Orleans. I borrowed a few from his blog to show you below, but you can check out more on his blog!

And lastly, one night Stephen and I dressed up for a special date night, and afterward modeled for a night shooting workshop the fabulous Mark Eric was hosting around the streets of New Orleans. Here's a few of my favorites that we were tagged in on my Facebook.

And I loved this collage of Stephen & I's kiss by Brandon O'Neal:

And for a really embarrassing iPhone video, the last night I was there cruising around Bourbon Street, I dedicated a karaoke NSYNC song to Stephen with my Florida girls (FROM L TO R) Candice K, Corinna Hoffman, Kara Pennington & Courtney Craver! (Did I mention, soooooo embarrassing?)

Such a great time in New Orleans! I miss it already so much! Hope to see you at next year's PartnerCon!!!!!
