Why I do what I do. /// Scarlett Lillian Review

December 6, 2006, I had no idea what I was doing. I was amazed that Jessica put her trust in me to capture the most important day of her life. I wasn't getting paid, my parents and I were already attending Jessica's wedding as guests, so I had volunteered to shoot her wedding and give her free photos because I had just got my old Canon 30D, and I trying to determine if I even wanted to become a wedding photographer.

As I watched her cry tears of joy viewing the slideshow of images I put together to surprise her with during the reception, I was hooked.

Fast forward to today, I'm in the midst of attacking my email inbox and I ran across this email notification from Facebook that came in the other day.

As I reread it, I smiled and thought, "This is why I do what I do." Even though I look back at the images and cringe at how far I've come technically and artistically, this email proves, I'm not just a photographer, I'm a story teller.. a memory documentor... a person who gets the honor of capturing family history.

It's emails like this where I think, I could honestly care less if I ever win an award for my photography, because emails like this are the greater award. Thanks Jessica for bringing happy tears to my eyes too! :-)

Tiffany & Charles are married! /// Sea Island, Ga Wedding at the Cloister Hotel

When Tiffany told me in our initial emails that she has had some modeling experience, I knew we were going to have fun getting some awesome bridal shots of her at her wedding. When I saw her Romona Keveza dress, I melted. I couldn't wait to get my camera on her.

Tiffany and Charles vacation often in Sea Island, Ga. and decided to have their Southern destination wedding there. They celebrated with family and friends during an elegant rehearsal dinner at the Frederica Golf Club. The wedding day festivities took place at the gorgeous Cloister Hotel, known as a popular place past presidents have enjoyed vacationing and golfing. Tiffany and Charles were even staying in the suite that President Bush and his family once stayed!

It was the cool spring weather before it gets sticky humid in Georgia. The azaleas were blooming and the sun set perfectly over the intracoastal golden isles on Tiffany and Charles' perfect day.

Here's my favorite shots from the day and a slideshow of more images below!

VENDORS & DETAILS:

DRESS: Romona Keveza
SHOES: Jimmy Choo

Who wore it best?

Let's play "Who wore it best?"

The Romona Keveza runway model, or my hot bride Tiffany?

(You better answer Tiffany!)

Just had to share one of my favorite bridal images of Tiffany while in the midst of editing her wedding! More soon!

New promo video!

With spring in the air, I'm itching for new changes to my branding. I'm working behind the scenes on a new website and will be launching that, uh, when I have a moment to finish it, in between the spring weddings I'm busy shooting and editing.

One changed I've made though is... look above. Last year when I spoke at Pictage's PartnerCon, I showed this promo video... then kind of forgot about it. I get so distracted sometimes. So as I work on my new website, I decided to dust off the video, and finally bring it out to it showcase on my blog to show brides a little behind the scenes about me! Some of the footage is really old, like from ancient 2008, ha, but it was fun to watch it and remember some of the places my camera has taken me!

Ok, back to editing. Here's a sneak peek teaser shot of the gorgeous sunset at the wedding I shot this past weekend at The Cloister Hotel in Sea Island, Ga.! More soon!
