Cross your fingers for me!
It's official, I'm now a member of WPPI, or Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. I know, it took me forever to finally join. I went last year to the convention in Las Vegas and had an amazing time, and I'm *hoping* to go this year, but waiting to see how things go with my dad. Each day is so precious left with him, and he's entering Hospice in the coming weeks, so I'm not sure if I will make it to Vegas this year.
But thanks to my friend Luke Edmonson, who I met at Mike Colon's workshop, he convinced me that I need to start entering my work into competitions. I guess it does sound better to say "I'm an award winning photographer", even though I always wonder if the clients REALLY care or if it's something more for the photographers ego. Either way, I thought I would break down and enter this year and see what happens.
Here's the two shots I entered!
First, my favorite Bridal Party shot EVER from Cara & Drew's wedding! I called it "Mommy's Shoes."
And then my favorite photojournalism shot ever from Amy & Howard's wedding! This one I obviously called "Dancing in the Rain."

You're going to win for sure! The first one is too adorably cute!
Congrats! And yes, you should have "award winning" in front of your name. You are very creative!
Good luck! Both pictures are beautiful.
Good for you girl! I'm keeping them crossed for you! Winner or not, you rock girl! And I'm so excited you are adopting another poodle! You will LOVE having two of them running around.
xo!

Love the pictures...love the puppy! Good Luck and God Bless you all during these coming weeks!
You are completely worth the label "award winning"...your work is exquisite! I'm continuing to pray for your precious family. I have become lost in your mom's writings and your work. You are two very amazing women!!! And the fact that your dad is the rock behind the you both...it is truly inspirational. You radiate the grace and beauty of the Lord! Thank you for enlightening my life!
Hey boo (I just love that) I'm praying for you and your family. I hope you can make WPPI because I'm totally going to stalk you in person rather than blog stalking you :) J/K but I'd love to see you there. You and your parents are always on my mind. Love, Susan
I love the last picture; so beautiful and it just captures the moment perfectly.
I wish you all the best during this difficult time with your father's health; he must be so proud of you!
Now crossing fingers AND toes for you! You go girl!
Good luck with your entries, I joined a few weeks ago and entered 2 photos into the comp, just for kicks. This will be my first trip to the US to attend WPPI so I'm very excited. I hope your Dad holds in there for you, I know how hard this is for you :( Hugs xx
I remember when you first posted the puppy/shoes image--I love it!! Good luck!
