Chelsea & Brock are engaged! /// Jacksonville Engagement Photographer

Chelsea Patricia is a wedding photographer about to relocate to Atlanta, GA when she marries Brock in December. She originally wrote me asking "I want to do a Spend A Day With Scarlett, but I also want you to shoot our engagement photos, can that work?" I said "Of course!" So we combined a day at the desk talking all about photography, and later that evening shot her and Brock's engagement session. Chelsea wanted to learn more about off camera lighting, and wanted an engagement session that played around with dramatic lighting too. It was fun to do something different than my normal engagement sessions with natural light. I also loved how Chelsea brought masks, and Brock brought his trumpet. Chelsea is originally from New Orleans, so they wanted to "jazz" it up a little with some of their favorite props.

However, I think my favorite moment of the day was one that wasn't caught on camera. As we sat in my office talking about photography, Brock said "Hey Chelsea, you want me to go look?" And she said "Oh yeah!" I was in the dark what he was talking about. Next thing I know, I hear him outside saying "Chelsea, it is, come on!" And Chelsea says "Uh, hold that thought, I'll be right back." Chelsea runs off and I follow her outside to discover her and Brock dancing in the rain. My heart melted at how cute that was. They come in from the rain and say "Sorry, but we have this pact that every time it rains, we've promised to always stop what we are doing and dance in the rain together." Ok, how totally cute was that? I only wish I had my camera ready for that moment.

I had a blast getting to know Chelsea one photographer to another, and I'm excited to see what our mutual photographer friend Jamie Delaine does with her wedding photos. Chelsea is having a cherry blossom pink dress! So fun!
