A blessed Easter.
My mom and I attended a sunrise service at the beach yesterday for Easter. As we watched the sun rise on the day that Jesus rose from the grave, I was thinking about how just three days before He was persecuted, mocked, made fun of, called names, called a liar, slashed in public, crucified, spit on, and the list goes on. What others thought was a victory by ending His life on the cross, He proved that it was just the beginning on that beautiful Easter morning when He walked out of the tomb.
This Easter season as I reflect on Jesus' death and resurrection, I have been more than ever thankful for all my loving Savior went through and died for for you and I.
Jesus died for my sins.
He died for your sins. (1 Peter 2:24)
Jesus died for my mistakes.
He died for your mistakes. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
He died for my hurts.
He died for your hurts. (Romans 8:17)
Jesus died so that I may live.
He died so that you may live. (Romans 6:4)
Jesus died so that through His strength I could forgive others.
He died so that through His strength you could forgive others. (Matthew 18:21-22)
Jesus died so that when the storms of life swirled around me, I could find peace when my eyes are fixated on Him.
He died so that when the storms of life swirled around you, you could find peace when your eyes are fixated on Him. (Matthew 8:23-26)
Jesus died so I could know love comes from my Heavenly Father , so that I could know how to love my neighbor, and have the capacity to love my enemies.
He died so you could know love comes from your Heavenly Father (1 John 4:16), so that you could know how to love your neighbor (Mark 12:33), and have the capacity to love your enemies (Luke 6:27-28).
I am thankful this Easter season for amazing grace and that Jesus loves the imperfect. I am thankful that it is not possible to earn a way into Heaven, but that He simply asks us to ask Him into our hearts so that we can follow Him, and that when we do, He will never leave or forsake us. (John 3:16, Matthew 28:19-20)
I hope each of you reading this had a wonderful Easter in worship remembering the real reason for the season. I pray for God's greatest blessings for you in this new spring season.
As I watched the sun rise, I joyfully said under my breath these precious words:
"The Lord's love never ends;
his mercies never stop.
They are new every morning;
Lord, your loyalty is great.
I say to myself, 'The Lord is mine,
so I hope in him.' "
~Lamentations 3:22-24

I was completely touched by your blog post. I'm so happy that people like you stand up for the cross and proclaim it proudly on their blog. So awesome!
I love you! Can't you just see us years from now with our kids-- hiding rhinestone eggs and eating a huge delicious dinner with our families. Which of course, if I had my way, would consist of nothing but different flavored creme brulees and martinis!
Very nicely done...this post expresses your true grace and style...Happy Easter :)
