It's official.
The results are in.
My dad has lung cancer.
:-(
He is admitted into the hospital for a few days and is still going through a series of tests to determine how serious it is so the doctors can determine the best way to fight it. More than likely he will begin chemo and radiation as soon as possible. We'll know more after his biopsy.
Last night my mom and I went to see him in the hospital. Despite everything he is going through, he still was able to flash a smile for his photographer daughter and her camera. He has amazed me with his positive attitude and his continued faith in a time when I know he could easily be doing the opposite.
A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has been leaving comments and writing emails and calling and texting. Your prayers are keeping me strong in this scary time. I told my dad in the hospital last night that my blog world was praying for him and it meant a lot to him knowing your circle of your prayers were surrounding him.

I'm sorry to hear the news Scarlett. Your dad and family are in my prayers.
Scarlett, I'm so sorry to hear this. I've read your blog for a bit (and I know Lauren Wright who speaks highly of you!). My mother was diagnosed with melanoma a little over a year ago, but thankfully we got to it soon enough. It didn't spread very far and with a biopsy and second surgery, the cancer is gone. I couldn't imagine knowing that chemo and radiation are next. Your father, you, and your family are in my prayers.
i just prayed for you all!
Scarlett -
You continue to be a huge inspiration to me in photography and in life. I recently came back to God after being away for too long. You are such a role model for Christian women and how to live your life for the Lord.
I'll continue to pray for you and your family and know that God will help you through these time.
And I've decided that today is my last day smoking. It's not worth it.
I can't thank you all enough for each prayer sent my dad's way. I am so blessed beyond measure for each and everyone of you. I appreciate your kindness, thoughtfulness, and grace. As true friends, you (virtually) hold my hand through the hard times, and celebrate with me in the joyful times. I pray for blessings to be showered back to each and everyone of you!
Mandy- So true, we are all survivors already!!!
