Jesus on the red carpet.

Ok, I admit, I'm sorry, I don’t understand the whole Hannah Montana craze. I finally broke down and watched an episode recently on the Disney Channel, and it was the cheeziest thing I’ve ever seen.
But...
I do admit, I really like Miley Cyrus and the positive impact she is having in the world of “celebrity.” Everytime I see her in an interview or read an article about her, she has always made some reference to God or quotes a Bible verse. And tonight’s interview on the Grammy’s Red Carpet on E! impressed me the most. When Giuliana quizzed her about her dating life, Miley responded “There are only 3 guys I love right now, and they are, Jesus, my brother and my dad.” I not only gave her an AMEN, but I just really admired her courage to put Jesus first on the E! channel. And unlike a lot of rockstars that live a rockstar life but hypocritically throw in God in their thank you speeches, I really respect Miley for not just talking the talk, but walking the walk too. So though her Disney show might be cheezy, I’m glad to see she's such a positive influence for young girls to look up to unlike the rest of the celebrities ending up in rehab and behind bars. (Let's just pray that fame doesn't get the best of Miley eventually too.)
Here's the clip of the interview:

I am not ashamed to say that I AM A TOTAL FAN of hers! She is such a cutie and has a wonderful heart! :)
Am I am just a fan???!!! Oh dear, more of like an obsessed 26-year-old Hannah Montana/Miley Ray fan!! LOL Girl, I woke up 4 in the morning to line up for concert tickets, stood in the rain, had cops ordering us to leave... too nutz, but got tickets to the Jacksonville concert!! Love that picture of her in your blog by the way :)
I have one of her songs as my ringtone :D I can't stand the cheeziness of the show, but I am hopelessly addicted to her music! LOL
As a Mommy of three girls - I hear a lot of her in my house. The show is tolerable, but her CD's are on quite a bit in the good 'ol minivan, probably the only non-christian CD in the van!! It's nice to have a role model like her for my girls - lets keep our fingers crossed for her future!
I have to admit that I haven't really watched her show, so as of now i'm not a fan :)
BUT ... her interview was awesome!
I love seeing smart, saavy, brilliant girls who love the Lord step out and shine without apologies! The world needs more women like YOU and MILEY to pave the way to "coolness" and success doing it God's way. It is THE ONLY way a woman will reach her greatest potential and find true happiness. The light inside such a woman is a beacon to others in search of a life where dreams come true. It also illuminates the way for the men of our dreams to find us!
Oh, I think her show is totally cute! :)
So funny all of your responses!
I saw this interview, it blew me away! I thought...now THIS is the kind of girl that teens need as a role-model!
I agree with you, I love how open she is about everything. I saw her on Oprah and she said her favorite verse and Oprah asked her to say it and she just quoted it, it was great. She is a great role model for younger girls, and even us older ones!
I agree!
My kids have gotten me on a Hannah Montana kick!! She is super cute and pure!! And Lord knows we need that in Hollywood today!!!
Amen!
Don't break my heart, my achy-breaky heart...
.... I just don't think he'd understand.
And I never understood why that song was such a big hit. Gotta love one hit wonders!
I own just about all her CDs. Teagan thinks I bought them for her! LOL! I have on occassion used her songs as ringtones on my cell. I do not really care for her show (too cheesy, much like the other Disney tween shows). However, that is what appeals to the show's demographic. I have to say it's not as bad as some of the other garbage that is out there though. Go Miley for staying true to herself and her Christian upbringing!

Jessi- Ha! I do agree it's nice to have non-garbage out there. I totally agree about how much I admire her for staying true to her Christian upbringing.
