Stuck in a lay over.
Coming from one place, in transition to another place.
In the new year, God is teaching me a lot about loving others and, even harder, forgiving others. And how crucial it is to fully forgive those from our past destinations before we can fully love new people we meet along the way through life’s continued journeys.
This was a great passage I was reading from Stormie Omartian’s “The Power of a Praying Woman” on the plane and I wanted to share it with you all here in case there is someone in your life who needs the love of your forgiveness.
“It’s amazing how God softens our hearts when we pray for people.
Our anger, resentment, fears and hurt turn into love.
When we forgive someone, it doesn’t make them right or justify what they have done.
It releases them into God’s hands so He can deal with them.
Forgiveness not only sets us free from the person we forgive, but it frees us to move into all God has for us.
If you don’t forgive and let go, you get stuck where you are and shut off God’s work in your life.
It’s far easier to love God than it is to love others, but God sees them as being the same.
It’s hard to forgive those who have hurt us, but one of the most loving things we can do is forgive.
And in the process, He perfects us. (Matthew 5:48)”

Scarlett,
Forgiving someone is one of the hardest things to do but what you feel when you do is so freeing. I think God smiles at us when we decide to let go of things that are hurtful. Forgiveness is freeing for the person that you are forgiving and to us for extending that grace that can only come from God.
Thanks for sharing your heart. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you.
Welcome home :) Can't wait to see the pics!
Dido what Kim said. Thank you for sharing. I've shared this with several other friends too, hoping it will encourage them also. I have some news that I really need to share with you, perhaps on Saturday evening I will tell you. It is life changing, but not good news.
Have a safe trip home!
Rachel
