Could you give up cooked food?
Though I don't have the discipline to go raw or vegan (yet!), I continue to take steps toward it and be fascinated by the benefits of a raw diet that Darice so passionately educates people about. A few months ago, she threw a fabulous raw dinner party to share with girlfriends how raw food can actually be quite tasty. I was suprised all the different ways you can make "pasta," "tacos," "pizza," and more out of raw food. Then Friday night, she invited everyone to join her at one of her favorite raw restaurants, The Present Moment Cafe in St. Augustine.
Maybe one day I'll actually go raw, but until then, it's fun to embrace the lifestyle when I'm around Darice. Here's a few fun photos of us from her blog. If you are intrigued by the raw concept, go check out her blog. It's a great resource of recipes, photos of the yummy food and eduational tools of the lifestyle.
Also that night, I was reunited with an old friend, Bonnie (middle), who used to be my cheerleading coach when I was a freshman in high school! I hadn't seen her since then, so it was awesome to reconnect. Darice knows Bonnie because she is shooting her wedding. Small world huh?

You look gorgeous!
you are just so pretty!!
I just read your below post about your exam.... you are in my prayers today- i will praying that God curles you up in His giant lap and warms you with His peace.
1. I just checked Skinny Bitch out at the library. I was on the waiting list for months.
2. LOVE the sweater dress!
Scarlett you are an inspiration too. It takes so much courage and openness to even TRY to take on a new way of eating thus overall LIVING! And your steps have done just that. You are DOING it!
I think our society is at a point where we all are dissatisfyed with how we are feeling. It use to be we became obsessed with how we LOOK but after talking with so many women lately, more and more of them are communicating a deeper desire to feel fantastic inwardly which is what eating living foods does for you and much more! You are more disciplined than you think. Even becoming vegetarian is a huge change! Love you immensely!
Tristan & Rachel- Ha, thanks I felt anything but that night. Thanks for your prayers Rachel!
Carla- 1. Great book, a little blunt but it tells it to you straight that's for sure. 2. I actually had jeans on too, but hmm, maybe I should try it as a dress sometime. I think it's too short though.
Darice- Amen to all of of the above. You rock and set a great example!
wear leggings under. It would look fantastic. I just wore black leggins under a green blue top with a belt and high heeled boots and it looked smashing! I could see a similar combo with your pink sweater - what fun!
Carla, btw, I love the title on that book! I have heard great things about that book, would love to read it myself.
I can say it's true though, becoming raw definitely has its perks outwardly as well as inwardly. I think I can "title" myself as a skinny bitch now (lol). For the first time in 9 years, today I bought pants and a skirt in a size 0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They fit me like a glove. Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A size 0? Geesh, I don't think I was ever a size 0 even in elementary school! ha! But you would like Skinny Bitch, Darice. It's very blunt like we are. :-)
