The Ex List and Fireproof
There's a funny new show on CBS called "The Ex List" that comes on Friday nights. The premise is, a single girl in her 30s goes to a psychic who tells her the man she is meant to marry is one of her exes, and if she doesn't marry him within a year, she will end up single forever. The psychic won't tell her who, so thus begins the journey of the girl revisiting exes of the past to see which Mr. Wrong was indeed Mr. Right. Here's a funny clip of the show.
Not that I believe in psychics, though yes I have gone to them before for the fun of it (and they have yet to be right about anything that happened in my life), but it got me thinking about some of my exes and laughing at the thought of one of them actually ending up as my Mr. Wonderful. There's really only one guy who I have ever questioned that about, the one who I have referred to on here as my Mr. Big, but after a quick revisit to the past a few months ago, I realized we were simply better as friends and it has been nice to simply laugh with him again and not have things be messy with relationship drama. Most everyone else, I can look back on and thank God that He saved me from the disaster that it could have ended up as.
My cousin Becky has started a funny dating series on her blog. She's been having fun with match.com meeting new guys, and it has lead to some crazy stories of her wows and woes of dating. It's fun to read for a "OH NO HE DIDN'T" laugh!
For my dating life, it's funny how all of a sudden, I've entered that phase where everyone, including my brides, seem to be wanting to set me up with their perfect friend I would be perfect for. Before I was always closed off to this, but I apparently have learned the hard way from my past that I don't know what the heck I'm doing when I choose someone to date, so I've decided to be open to someone else choosing a match for me. But I know bottomline that God is the ultimate matchmaker, so by whatever means my husband is meant to appear, I'm gonna let Him do His thing...
And speaking of husbands and marriage... last night I saw the movie Fireproof and totally bawled my eyes out more than I did the previous week seeing that new Nicholas Sparks movie, Nights in Rodanthe, which I was sure would rock my heart, but didn't. I already blogged about the trailer for Fireproof when I first saw the trailer months ago, but it's WORTH blogging about again. As a wedding photographer, I totally want to encourage you that this is a MUST SEE movie for all married people, divorced people AND singles. It was so beautiful with so many great lessons in it about what TRUE love really is. Definitely go see this movie before it's out of the theaters... and bring your tissues!

I wanted to see this movie too but later this month and now I think you have convinced me to go see it one night next week! As for the dating thing, I felt the same way for awhile and then out of nowhere and when I wasn't even looking, Jon walked into my life. We have been happily married for a few years now. He is the kind of guy they write chick flicks about! I would have never though a guy like him would be a part of my life a few years ago. So blessed!
I LOVED THAT MOVIE!!

Hey Scar-
I can't believe you went without me:-) Glad you liked it! Did Mr. Big come into town? Next time let me know.. I would love to hang out with the old gang:-)
Scarlett, I think you shouldn't delete your "boy" stories. They're all a part of your journey. Plus, I'm single and 35, so I feel your pain.:)
I heard that Fireproof was a great movie for married couples. I need to encourage a few of my friends to see it.
1st off...you blog is gorgeous!!! Love it! 2nd Fireproof was great!
My advice for all things boy: "Boys suck. Throw rocks at them." They're probably intimidated. You're just waiting for the guy who's man enough. ;-)
Hey Scarlett,
My husband and I went to see this movie opening night, and we loved it! It was especially dear to me because I grew up in Albany, GA and actually went to Sherwood Baptist. Did you know at the end of the movie when they kiss, that's really Kirk's real wife! He said all his kisses are for Maggie! So sweet!
Ashley
Ginger- Thanks for the encouragement! So cute about you and Jon!
Michele- I sent you a text about that!
Rae- Oh, I know, I'm all about the journey and they definitely remain in my personal journal. But I delete them from the blog out of respect for the next guy. I doubt he wants to see blog entries about me and other guys in my archives, ha!
Amy- Awww, thanks! Who knows!
Ashley- Oh cool, small world. And wow, no I didn't know that about Kirk and the kiss. How sweet! Yeah, I've never understood that about actors who are married, how they can kiss other actors.
