What Would Scarlett Lillian Do?
Just a few of the sweet words I received yesterday about Spend A Day With Scarlett:
"Thank you for offering this to outside photographers!"
~Krista
"I 100% want to spend the day with you!"
~Nichole
"To spend a day with you and pick your brain a little bit, learning the ropes, and perhaps persuading you a little bit into spilling the beans on a couple of your secrets would be a dream come true for me. I have been following your blog for about a year now, and I am so amazed at your work, your being - your personality. I think you are such an awesome person. "
~Ryan
"Thanks for offering this opportunity.. how amazing and generous!!"
Katie
First off, I just want to say what an INCREDIBLE response I got to yesterday's big announcement opening up the opportunity for you to come spend a day with me! It was so great to see that I could help fill a need out there for all of you, and I so can't wait to get things rolling and start our days together! For those still interested, I do still have just a few select openings left that I will be taking on, so reserve your spot as soon as possible before it fills up!
But this got me thinking.... I've had a few of you request that I start offering "tips of the week" or something like that, so to go along with this funny picture, I've decided to start a weekly column here on the blog, "What Would Scarlett Lillian Do?" So if you have a question you'd like me to answer, whether photography related or personal, leave your one question here in the comment box (No emails please, I'm a little overwhelmed right now!) and I'll start picking some favorites to answer here soon! Looking forward to sharing with you all further!

Hi, the bride is my cousin Desirae and the photographer is my best friend, Micha. Micha is absolutely in love with you. She thinks you are the best photographer ever. She likes to take inspiration from your pictures. It means alot to her that you took time to blog about her picture. She is looking at your site like every day!! My wedding is in three weeks!! I can't wait to see what ideas of yours, she uses!!
Hi Scarlett girl. I've got a question for you. I have been shooting since I was 12 and I'm now 36 so it's been a while but it was always my #1 passion and I did it for fun and without any training. A year ago I started doing it professionally. I want to know what you found most effective as far as advertising goes. Should I do the bridal fairs, invest tons of money for a tiny add on the knot and so on? I'm boggled about what to do first. I actually started up my own event magazine that showcases local wedding/event professional so that I can advertise all I want in there but until that takes off it can't be my only means of publicity. What did Scarlett do?

This is probably the most awesome idea you've come up with for us poor blog stalkers! I can't wait to read the articles. I do have one question I would like answered. How do you all deal with second shooters? Are they favors you all do for each other or do you pay each other?
Hi Scarlett! The funny thing is, I actually *have* a picture of me sitting on the toilet before my wedding! My big dress couldn't fit in the tiny bathroom in the bride room, and my sister took a hilarious picture! I'm going to email it to you ... you'll crack up! =)
Your "spend a day" promotion is awesome ... sounds like you're getting fabulous results! Keep up the awesome work! =)

Hey Scarlett!!!
I never understood what blog stalking was until I met your blog! I look at it everyday...there may need to be a support group created! :)
I can't wait to see what your office looks like! I'm so excited! Although, I don't know how on God's wonderful green Earth you're getting rid of your beautiful closet space that you had. My heart broke for you & then my mind immediately wandered to the idea of a Scarlett Lillian garage sale. WOW. I'd SO be there for that one!
xoxo
Hmmm, spend a day with Scarlett! a Dream come true? Damn right!
I'd love to fill up one of the couple of places left, and although the $1500 wouldn't be to bad, the flight over might tip the boat a little haha! It's a great oppurtunity for anyone and I wish you the best of luck with the promotion! :D
I've watched that video far to many times! looking for tips, and I love the way you interact with customers! Fantastique!

Hey Scarlett,
You're doing a great job with the blog. I have been following it for some time now, and I'm quite impressed with your work. Keep it up! I do have a couple questions for you. What type of post-processing do you do to your images, or do you receive that high-contrast and saturation right out of the camera? As far as lighting, do you light only with your video flash or do you have additional off-camera flashes? What video flash do you use?
Ok, I'll stop myself there. I have a handfull of other questions I'd like to ask you, also, but I'll ask you another time. Thanks for your time!
Cheers!
Anya

Hey Scarlett!!
Here's my question- do your coffee table albums come from Pictage as well? If not, where do you order them from? Debbine and Michael's looks soooo great!! I'm not real happy with who I order from, so I am always looking for new things. I requested info from Pictage, and am looking forward to learning more about it!
Thanks for doing this column!! Hopefully someday I will be able to come and spend a day with you!
Danielle
Hey Scarlett!!
Here's my question... I just looked at your post with Debbine and Michael's ablum in it and was wondering if your albums come from Pictage too? If not, where do they come from?
Thanks so much for continuing to help out those who stalk the blog!! We are all very grateful!!
Thanks!
Danielle
P.S. I finally watched the video you posted last December- and thanks for the tip about editing with Bridge! I love it!!
Hi Scarlett!
Photography is a huge passion of mine & my question is how do you get the bright beautiful colors in your photography? Is it the natural lighting or a program. Thanks!
Wish I could spend a day with you but times are tough!
Thanks again!
Hi Scarlett!! Hate to admit it, but I am a blog stalker!! I check your blog every day! I wish I could spend a day with you - maybe when I get a little more cash ;) I do have a question though, I have watched the BIG announcement video numerous, numerous times, and I am wondering what you use on the top of your camera where the flash would go - I have never seen anything like that before!! I hope you have an amazing Labor Day weekend, and maybe one day I will get to spend a day with you!!

I'm not sure where I should post this so you will read it soon, but I have 2 requests that are non-photography related. One is a prayer request, the other is a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness. You can see the details on my blog. All you Scarlett Stalkers and prayer warriors, we need you!!
Scarlett has a video on her blog where she goes over what she uses and some of her techniques/secrets. You all should check it out!
To get there on her blog-go to her December 2007 blog archive and scroll down until you see the blog entry A's to your Q's.
Thanks Gin for letting everyone know. That video is so outdated already. It's funny to think how much I've learned since that video!
Thanks April for sharing! Please prayer for her requests you guys!
Hey Girl!
If you were strictly a family (kids and seniors) photographer, how would you go about selling your prints? Would you just sale the digital negatives or would you sale prints??????? I really want to do something COMPLETELY different next year, but I'm not sure what?? I'm thinking about doing something like that, and I'd love to know your opinion!!!
Thanks!
Jess
I am so excited you decided to post a blog about me ;0) Never on earth did I think you would see that blog I posted, lol. But have to admit I am a huge fan and couldn't resist that picture. It had everyone at work rolling on the floor. Thanks for being such an inspiration to me and other photographers!
I haven't forgotten about these. I'll post my first WWSLD soon!
